Historical Photographic Archive
The Parish Council has for the past few months been collecting photographs from various sources to build a photographic archive of the village and village life.
This proved a very popular feature with many users of our old site hence we have made arrangements for all the photographs to be accessible through our new site.
The Parish Council now has it's own Facebook page where there are albums being regularly created which include collections of photographs from years gone by, the current village environment and of local events.
The benefit of using Facebook to host our archive is that it is easily accessible (click here to go to our page now) and we are keen for as many residents and businesses of the Parish to befriend our page as possible so that we can use it as a method of quickly sharing appropriate information about the Parish. Facebook also allows users to easily comment on individual photographs as well as tag people in the photographs which adds to the interest for everyone and increases the value of the archive.
If you do not hold a Facebook account then please click here and you will still be able to view the album - just click on any photo to open the album at that page - though you will not be able to tag people you know or comment on the photographs.
If you have any photographs of the village or village life which you feel may be of interest (past or present) please either forward self scanned copies to dormansland@live.co.uk or use this same email address to find out how you can send them to the Council to be scanned and returned to you.
We are keen to get as many photographs as possible for everyone to enjoy. |
