Community Speedwatch is a scheme to help people reduce speeding through their community.
The scheme enables volunteers to work within their community to raise awareness of the dangers of speeding and to help control the problem locally.
Volunteers are trained to use speed indicator devices, which display vehicle speed. The registered owner of any vehicle seen exceeding the speed limit is sent an advisory letter from the local neighbourhood policing team, explaining that speeding is unacceptable to the local community.
Volunteers are given full training and safety equipment to ensure they are clearly visible to road users.
More volunteers are always needed. If you are able to commit some time on a basis that is convenient to you please contact the Parish Clerk.
